Poker Training
From Poker Wiki
Just the same as going to a golf pro, or joining a golf club to learn to play golf, so can you go to a website to get some online poker training. This new breed of online poker site has cropped up with the explosion of online gaming casinos, as these gaming sites are offering up every game imaginable to be played. And since online gaming is both fun and potentially profitable, it makes perfect sense to learn from the pros when it comes to online poker training.
Many poker training sites are staffed by the folks you see on TV during the World Series of Poker, or on any of the broadcasts coming from the Poker Channel or ESPN. Advice in the form of blogs and videos can be found from masters like WSOP 2008 winner Peter Eastgate and more. Poker training sites will often have videos from these broadcasts, as well as videos of actual tournament poker play, that you can watch online just as you would any other video on YouTube.
In addition to videos, poker training includes the study of winning hands and all the training sites will have those aplenty. There is also a way for you to record your own hands for later study. To make hand-history viewing even easier, some sites offer free software that does a better job of displaying your history. The software re-animates the action just as it was originally played, similar to the way traditional hand histories of bridge or chess games are displayed in newspapers.
As far as costs go, expect to pay something per month, and perhaps a sign-up fee of over $100. All this expert advice is not cheap. Just as your golf club has membership fees, so will your poker club.
