    Red face Week 1 report.

    Hi guys,

I might be looking for a poker buddy or two to add to Skype for occasional poker conversation, ... and maybe micro NL tips, lol. I decided to post here on RTR mainly because there's too many stalkers at 2+2! LOL

I was a limit player in 2003, after having studied diligently for most of 3 years. Eventually I realized I made all my bank playing MTT's tho. For a couple months around new years 2011, the last time I played, my best game on PokerStars was PLO. (My favorite game was probably limit O8). Still, none of my cash game winnings compared to repeated success at NLHE tourneys.

Then, Black Friday struck and I was out of luck. My former roll got spent on living.

Just recently I learned that I could play at ACR. I deposited $50.65 last weekend. My plan is to grind the micro cash games, and build up a roll.

After this week, my profit is $4.57, but the story behind it exasperates me. If it wasn't for the past couple hours, I would have rather said "it infuriates me".

A few hours ago I was down $27 after playing 31 hours of only NL cash games throughout this week.

But, ACR has a $250 freeroll for New Depositors, where I placed 3rd for $20. (150 places paid)

I only remembered yesterday that I used to score PLO, so I played that for half an hour, buying in for $5 and decided to bank $16 right now after what was such a rough week.

Let's see my rate of profit per game:

    PLO +$22 /hour
    MTT +$10 /hour
    NL5 -$0.87 /hour

Yea, there's a very small sample size for the wins, so it's a joke. I'm just saying it really frustrates me that I can't eek a win at micro NLHE.

    Oh well, I'll keep learning.

    Week 2 Report

Well, Week 2 definately picked up, but none the less was full of ups and downs. ACR doesn't have enough traffic at the micros -- Even NL10 has a lot more people than NL5 -- and single tabling is emotionally difficult because the variance is so obvious.

I decided to quit going against what has worked in the past and hit a few tournaments, including SNG's, and those include DON's.

First the bad news: I'm losing in all cash games: NLH, PLO, and PLO8.

The good news is that my my ROI is 331% for 17 tournaments.

The flatness at the end of my graph is because I've been on a 3-day layoff play GuildWars 2.

Eh, they made me mad and I quit. Just no traffic.

Ran bad with some tourneys, which I am used to, but something about AC really tourney me off. Long after the original players who register for the tourney are in blind trouble, they are still letting people late reg or re-enter. A goddamn 120 minute rebuy / late-join.

Now, it is dead money theoretically, but the more practical way to think of it is that just about everybody is short stacked. To many hands 3 or 4 people are going all in, because they're feeling blind trouble *especially* the ones that just were already eliminated but rejoined. They know they have to double up, and they decide well, I'll just rejoin once or twice more and see if I can't double up right away.

See, if it was the exception, great, free money. But you got your ace king, you raise, a6 reraises, a3 shoves, 22 calls ... yea, you call, a3 calls.

    Ooooh I got 31% percent equity in a 4-way pot!!! +1.24 EV!!!

No! This ain't a ring game, foo! I got a 70% change to be knocked out. Sure, I say I'm good, maybe I'm usually doing good like having twice the buy in before it gets too crazy. Well, 70% change I lose this time, and 70% chance lose next time, Imma going to lose way to often.

Anyway, I forgot I played poker for a while, and came back recently. I even forgot I had rakeback for the past few weeks I've been playing again. I'm pretty sure I finally learned how to play ring games, but you know the rake sucks at AC especially in the micros, but I guess I have to move up to the $.02/$.05, there's fewer players at the very low stakes surprisingly.

    Sorry to disappear.

    Welcome back!

Actually we have asked ACR to improve their whole Registration process. We need them to be able to ticket people but make the players still register to avoid having too many people sitting out. There's nothing worse than that!

    Good luck!
    Best wishes
