    Is Cake Poker Reliable?

Dear RTR or anyone else that could have some answers,

I've been reasearching Cake poker and a lot of ppl are saying they are having a really hard time cashing ou(especially US players). I can't find one person that said they were able to cashout. i guess my question is, Is cake poker reliable and is it worth to play the freerolls and try to get my br up to try to cashout? I know the minimum cashout for american players is 500, im hoping RTR has some good news?

    Hi,

I had read the same things and my first cashout took about 2 weeks but after that I got 2 more cashouts within a week of cashing out. So I think they have sorted things out.

I use Neteller and am an European.

I'm in the US and requested a cashout on July 29th. As yet, it is still pending. From what I've read it can/will take months, not days or weeks to get a check.

IMHO RTR should NOT be promoting Cake to US players until they start making timely payments.

Hi Kharen, sorry to hear you are having problems. I think it is no secret that processing in the US is tricky at the moment and has been for sometime, and that the trade off for being able to play is to experience some delays in payouts. We are not hearing about anyone not getting paid, but i think delays are to be expected. We have mentioned your case to them and they will look in to it but you will be the one off exception we look in to as we can't start chasing up all payments!
    Best wishes

The delays are so lengthy it is almost the same as not getting paid. I made the request and was told 3-4 business days, then another told me 10-15 business days, now I'm told the are experiencing "technical difficulties" and there is no eta. Let's be realistic....no amount of "technical difficulties" takes someone 10-15 business days(that is 3 weeks!) to pull out a checkbook, write the dam check and stick it in an envelope. Cake isn't exactly swamped with great players trying to cashout either. They are dam quick to reply to emails, dam quick to accept your payments, but......getting paid is another matter.

You get ONE free cashout per month, which can't exceed $2500usd(one person claimed to have gotten $9500 in a single check, others have said 2500 was the max for a single check, so they received multiple checks which were not always processed at the same time). Additional cashouts cost $35usd. I can and do regularly make 200-300 a day, which is $6000 to $9000usd a month. I can tell you it would really suck paying $140usd in check fees and waiting for weeks for your $10k. On Cake you make it faster than you can collect it!(and when you try to collect it, they gouge you for as much as is possible after making you wait forever) And since this has been going on for MONTHS, it is not a "technical difficulty".........it is a basic flaw in the system.

BTW, at one point I told them to forget the check and simply credit me $600 in first deposit bonus money and give me a ticket to the new depositor tourney. It would save me a long wait, and save them from writing a check. They refused, so I'm waiting for the stupid check so I can make a first deposit to get my bonuses. Instead of making a perfectly sensible deal to keep a customer happy and the rake machine on track, they're keeping me waiting and rarely playing(I only played a few hours to have enough rake for a tourney I wanted to play). Now THAT is customer service!

My friend joined Minted, made a few grand, cashed out........it took 42 hours. *sighs*

    Thanks for your concern

As I originally said, I don't think RTR should be actively promoting Cake to US players during this undetermined length of "technical difficulties". I realize RTR is still getting paid quickly, but your US players are not. Associating your name with such bad service can kill your rep. even though YOU are getting paid promptly.

Printers break, computers have problems, US congressmen are twits, etc. I'm not hard to deal with at all and try to understand, but when a company goes out of their way to make my life harder for no reason, I become MUCH harder to deal with. When someone tries to tell me it takes 3 weeks to find their checkbook, I get very dam suspicious. When I see a ton of other people complaining about the same thing........wellllll......I can add it up easily.

Some off the wall info for you: A friend of mine works in the financial dept of UPS. UPS is a highly successful family owned company that has more money than god coming in each day. They pay cash for new jumbo jets like you pay cash for a coke. My friend instituted a 4 hour delay in the time payments are received, versus when they are made to "verify" everything. 4 hours before the funds coming in go into the "main" account. The money is diverted into a "temp" account............which draws interest during those 4 hours that she personally gets. Would ya like to take a stab at how much she made doing it THIS month? (She hasn't stolen a penny, hasn't broken company policy or any law at all.) I know poker players love numbers and problems, so I'll let you google it and do the math. You'll be shocked.

I'm NOT saying Cake is corrupt! What I am saying is their actions are beyond any reasonable action an honest professional company would tolerate. If I owned a poker house, there is no way in hell I'd allow even the slightest suspicion to exist that a player wouldn't be paid promptly, or if they sat down with $50 that can't get paid until they have $500. If I owned a company representing that poker house, I'd make dam sure my players are being taken care of in a timely manner, or I'd stop representing that business......end of story. How honest do you think it is for Cake to say you can cash out once you have $50usd? So you work your arse off grinding it out in freerolls and .02/.04 games for weeks to get that amount......then find out it takes $500usd if you are in the USA....but only find out that important info when you click the cash out button.

IT WOULD BE REAL NICE IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE YOUR LOGIN COOKIE EXPIRE SO SOON! IN FACT, WHY DOES IT EVER EXPIRE? DO YOU LIKE HASSLING TO PEOPLE TYPE IN USERNAMES AND PASSWORDS OVER AND OVER?

OK first they are pushing your transaction through so hoepfully that will be taken care of soon.
Was that last bit for us or Cake?

If us then we have expiring cookies because your account contains financial information and therefore we don't want people permanently logged in etc.

I will see if we could maybe just expire it when the window is closed.
Or have i misunderstood your question? I appreciate you are frustrated with Cake but to suggest we would deliberately want to hassle people is probably unnecessary!

The last part was talking about RTR. During the time it was taking me to reply, I'd get logged out. Honestly, there are much better ways.......such as giving the user the option of "Keep me logged in" or "log me out after 15 minutes of inactivity". Let the user decide if the want an expiring cookie or not. In my situation, I have zero concern about someone getting my info, so staying logged in would be my choice. People are WAY too paranoid about cookies and staying logged in. 99% of the people online don't have anything a real hacker would want, and the 1% that do can't stop a real hacker anyway. All the security hoops people jump through are absolutely pointless in most cases.

Quick example for you: Your online bank account won't let your browser store your username and password, so you have two choices....use a simple password you can remember, or save the info to a text document so you can copy/paste it. Do either of those seem very wise? Or does having your browser store your user/pass encrypted seem like a safer option? I'd much prefer having the password q6?evaFRAstUPrE+AnestazuXex9xE7u stored encrypted in the browser than be forced to use 123bank456 or keep the strong pass in a text on my desktop lol. The banks effort to APPEAR more secure is actually compromising basic security.

I got an email from Cake and they are processing my cashout now...eta 48-72 processing. I hope they address the problems they are having instead of simply oiling the squeaky wheel. Thank you for looking into it and I hope you and other affils apply some pressure to get everyone paid in a timely manner.
