Cake Freeroll Tonight Was Changed to Public Tourney

Why was Cake allowed to change the RakeTheRake freeroll tonight into a public tourney open to all Cake users? I don't get this. Now instead of a little more than 100 players, there are already 750+ registered and I'm sure many more will register before the tourney.

What gives? Why should non-members be allowed in this tourney?

I noticed this also, don't think this is all that fair considering the extra cash for winning more than one freeroll this weekend. Well good luck to all of the players from here and see you at the tables!

Well, Cake support said that any questions regarding this tourney should be directed to the tourney organizers. I guess they're saying that RTR made this decision. Seems a little shady to me.

Instead of cashing for a few dollars I cashed for a laughable 40 cents. lol.

Quite a few people at the tables were not happy about this tourney being opened up to all Cake users. Some people suggested that this was done to lessen the odds of someone collecting the bonus for winning multiple tournies. I sure hope not. That would be really sad. Either way, I don't feel this was fair to RTR members. Someone dropped the ball on this one.

    Hey all

OK firstly nothing has been done to try and prevent players from winning multiple tourneys.

The idea of these tourneys is to attract as many RTR members as possible and encourage them to sign up at other rooms so that they have something to do over the holiday period

In order to do this and to allow people who registered accounts last minute at the various rooms to enter the tourneys, we had to make them password protected.

And as ever with password tourneys, someone will always leak the passwords or guess them as seems to be the case with Cake.

These tourneys are just a little bit of extra fun for the holiday and if it has been ruined by a few people then that is a shame....
    Best wishes

I dont think RTR understand what happened, the cake tourneys are not password protected , the first one played on Thursday was PW protected the rest has been open for all.

    No password needed to register....

Very strange , it doesnt ask me for PW , I just register.

But the first one on Thursday it asked for PW but I couldnt register. So I think there must be a problem so they decided to open it for the players that had problems Thursday.
