    New iPoker Rake Calculation Method

    This thread has an explanation of the new changes being implemented and is meant for answers and questions about the new system. The 2nd post in the thread shows how existing deals will be affected.
    Source Based Rake (SBR)

    As of 1st February 2015, the iPoker will adopt a Source Based Rake (SBR) system, in which player valuation will be determined, in part, by the amount of deposits a player makes. The aim of the new system is to attract more recreational players to the network.

    What is Source Based Rake?

    SBR is a method of calculating player value based on the amount of deposits that a player makes, in addition to the rake and fee generated at cash tables and tournaments. SBR will not affect how much rake is taken from each cash pot – that remains exactly the same.

    How Does It Work?

    SBR will track player deposits through their lifetime cash flow of poker gaming, giving credit to the player who initially made the deposit. Player value will be determined partially based on SBR, and partially based on rake and fee. A player who deposits more will have increased value as a result of the new system, even if he does not play extensively and/or he is a losing player. Players who do not deposit will have decreased value. Player value is calculated according to the following formula:

    RPV = (0.5 * ORG) + (0.5 * SBR) + MTT fees

    Where:
    RPV = Real Player Value
    ORG = Original Rake / Fee
    SBR = Source Based Rake / Fee
    MTT = Multi Table Tournament

    How Does It Affect Players?

    Recreational players and those who deposit but end up losing all/or some of their funds to online grinders will benefit from the new system – in general ending up with 100%+ of their normal rake attributed to them.

    Grinders and sharks who profit from others’ deposits and who do not deposit on their own will end up having less than 100% of their normal rake attributed to them.
    Best wishes

    How will this affect existing deals and new deals?

    For our latest iPoker Deals please visit this page

    http://www.raketherake.com/ipoker-rakeback-deals

    Here we offer deals based on the old Weighted Contributed method so that you (the player) know what you will be getting back this month.

    On average these deals are equal to 70-100% of the new RPV method so make sure you aren't lured into any falsely advertised high rates from other rakeback affiliates!

    If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact our team here and they will try to help you.
    Best wishes
