$1.2 Million in One Night, Dwan is at it Again!

In his short online poker career, Tom Dwan has become a staple in poker news around the world.  Whether the 24 year-old is crushing high stakes competition on Full Tilt Poker or just making an outrageous prop bet, Dwan is always doing something newsworthy.  The latest story on Dwan is the former since he earned an incredible $1.2 million after one night of work at the high stakes poker tables.

Dwan, who is one of the highest rakeback earners at Full Tilt, began his night by taking $225,000 off of Swedish pro “Odonkor1”.  He then hopped back onto the computer to play more Internet poker against Phil Ivey.  This session resulted in another $30,000 profit in just 11 hands before Ivey left the game.

Tom Dwan logged off when Ivey did before deciding to play some more poker a few hours later.  This time he was matched up against Ilari “Zigmund” Sahamies in $500/$1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha poker games.  Dwan chose the right time to play poker against Sahamies because he won several monster pots worth over $400,000 before cruising towards an overall profit of $945,000 for the session.  As mentioned before, “durrrr” made a total of $1.2 million over the course of the night.

This amazing night was only the latest good thing to happen for Dwan in 2010.  Since he’s been playing holdem poker this year, Dwan has earned over $5.5 million.  His latest session of $1.2 million in profit puts durrrr up over $6.7 million in 2010.

So far this year has been vastly different for Dwan from 2009 when he lost millions of dollars during his texas poker sessions.  Many people wondered if he would be able to recover from all the money he lost.  And Dwan has responded well to the criticism since he’s made so much cash this year.
