Full Tilt Poker signs Tennis Pro James Blake

It appears as if Full Tilt Poker has caught athlete fever since they’ve just signed tennis pro James Blake a week after signing British boxer Audley Harrison.

Blake became a professional tennis player in 1999, and rose to prominence in 2006 when he was the No. 4 ranked player in the world.  Blake remained consistent up until 2009 as he never fell out of the top 15.  Unfortunately, a string of poor tournament finishes have left Blake the 120th ranked player today.  But that doesn’t take anything away from his online poker appeal in Full Tilt’s eyes.

Full Tilt is more interested in the fact that the 30 year-old Blake has won 15 tournament titles, earned over $7 million in his tennis career, and has played in casino poker events before.  Blake’s crowning poker tournament moment came when he finished second in Bravo’s Celebrity Poker Showdown.  James also took 333rd place in a $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em tournament during the 2008 WSOP.  And while he hasn’t had as much experience at the poker tables as fellow Full Tilt/athlete signee Audley Harrison ($207,936 in live tournament winnings), Blake still has a decent resume.

Now Blake will bear the Full Tilt logos in televised poker games, and promote some of the excellent online poker deals that FT offers.  One of these excellent offers includes their 27% rakeback deals that anybody can sign up for.  Under the Full Tilt rakeback deal, you’ll receive $0.27 back on every dollar you contribute in rake.

Considering the fact that many internet poker players spend thousands of dollars in rake every month, this could potentially mean hundreds of dollars back in your pocket.  And when you factor in all of the other great deals at Full Tilt, this is obviously one of the best poker sites on the internet!
