200,000 players secure new PokerStars Guinness World Record

On Sunday 4 December, PokerStars achieved a new Guinness World Record when 200,000 online poker players competed in the PokerStars No Limit Hold’em tournament, paying a $1 buy-in.

The tournament has smashed the previous record of 149,196 players in a single online poker tournament.

The Russian player “sokoluk1991” took first prize, seven hours into the game, netting himself $50,000!

And of the field, a massive 3000 were RakeTheRake players who entered into the World Record tournament. So if any of you out there cashed in the tourney or have any good stories to tell, do let us know, either by replying to this post or via facebook or twitter.

The World Record attempt tournament attracted online poker rakeback players from all over the world, reinforcing the universal appeal and popularity of the game amongst the online poker community.
