Americas Cardroom holding $5k Micro Stakes Race

While online poker rake races are always fun and exciting, there’s just one problem with them: micro stakes players are usually left out of the equation. After all, mid and high stakes grinders generate the most rake, so naturally they’re going to win the biggest prizes too.

This is what makes the new $5,000 rake race that Americas Cardroom is staging so unique because it’s solely dedicated to micro stakes players. Dubbed the “$5k Micro Race,” this event is running from now until January 27th, 2013 and will pay money out to the top 150 players.

To participate in the $5k Micro Race, all you need to do is play at the $0.01/$0.02, $0.02/$0.05 and $0.05/$0.10 stakes from now until Jan. 27th. Points are awarded at a rate of 1.25 X rake contributed. So if you contributed $4 in rake during a session, you’d receive 5 points towards the Micro Race leaderboard.

Another thing to keep in mind here is that you can pick up extra points by participating in Online Super Series II satellites. Below is a look at how many Micro Race points you can earn in each OSS II satellite:

• OSS II $100K GTD Super Satellite – Runs hourly on January 13th, 2013, $0.50 + $0.05 buy-in, one OSS $100k seat guaranteed, 25 Micro Race points awarded.


• OSS II $150K GTD Super Satellite – Runs hourly (5 minutes past the hour) until January 20th, $0.50 + $0.05 buy-in, one OSS $150k seat guaranteed, 25 Micro Race points awarded.


• OSS II $200K GTD Super Satellite – Runs hourly (5 minutes past the hour) until January 27th, $0.50 + $0.05 buy-in, one OSS $200k seat guaranteed, 25 Micro Race points awarded.
