For example, in a TV spot entitled “Nacho vs. Brazil,” Barbero is sitting at a poker table located in the middle of a crowded Brazilian street. Posted on by RTR Rachel

While Full Tilt Poker pro Tom Dwan and PokerStars pro Viktor “Isildur1” Blom are still busy issuing challenges on the felt, Victory Poker player Andrew “good2cu” Robl has a challenge of different sorts. Robl, who has been doing some mixed martial arts training when he’s not busy earning 33% rakeback at Victory Poker, has issued a $50,000 cage match challenge to any beginner fighter (or poker player). Erik Seidel wins NBC Heads Up Championship

Posted on by RTR Rachel

Most casino poker players would be elated with the following career: $4.3 million in tournament winnings, a $250k Aussie Millions High Roller title, a $25k LA Poker Classic High Roller title, and an NBC Heads Up Poker Championship win. Even without rakeback, that’s an incredible stat line! But for Full Tilt Poker pro Erik Seidel, this is just the first two months of 2011. Seidel added to his amazing two-month run by winning the 2011 NBC Heads Up Poker Championship on Sunday. The final match was a great story in itself as Seidel faced 2003 WSOP* Main Event champion and …

Full Tilt Pros missing from Seventh Season of High Stakes Poker

The good news is that we don’t have to wait long for the next season of High Stakes Poker because the seventh season begins on February 26th. The bad news is that several notable Full Tilt Poker pros won’t be involved this time around. It’s been reported that popular players like Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Ilari Sahamies, Eli Elezra and Patrick Antonius won’t be appearing in any High Stakes Poker episodes. The reason why is because they’re all signed by Full Tilt, and PokerStars has taken over as the official sponsor of High Stakes Poker. And even though their 27% …

“Isildur1” beats Dan Cates in PokerStars SuperStar Showdown

After splitting heads-up matches against Isaac Haxton and Tony G, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom now has a winning record in the PokerStars SuperStar Showdown with his recent victory over Dan “jungleman12” Cates. Cates was considered to be Blom’s toughest competition since he finished 2010 as the top online poker player by earning $5.5 million in profits – and this isn’t even counting the rakeback money he earned! Some people even speculated that Cates would best the Swedish pro in this 2,500-hand matchup. However, it looked like Isildur1 would walk away with the contest in the early going since he went up …

Daniel Negreanu becomes All-time Tournament Winner Again

Daniel Negreanu is already considered one of the top poker tournament players in the world. Negreanu leapfrogged Phil Ivey on the tournament money winners list after finishing second in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Rollers event. Negreanu battled through a 38-player field, and into a heads-up match with Eugene Katchalov; unfortunately for Negreanu, he wasn’t able to overcome Katchalov and earn the $1.5 million top prize. Here’s how the top five finishers fared in the $100,000 PCA …

Gus Hansen Wins First Bracelet

Gus Hansen has taken a lot of heat recently for the large amount of money he has lost in online poker over the past few years.  Of course, sitting at poker tables with the absolute best players in the world is sure to drain anyone’s bankroll – even with all of the rakeback you earn at the highest stakes. In any case, Hansen rebounded in a big way by winning the £10,000 High Roller Heads-Up event at the World Series of Poker Europe.  Of course, winning this poker tournament wasn’t as easy as Hansen would have preferred since he had …
