Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson say Las Vegas Poker Scene is Dead
It looks like Phil Ivey and Doyle Brunson will be sticking to online poker or finding somewhere else to live since they say the Las Vegas casino poker scene is dead. Brunson, who can often be seen advertising DoylesRoom, was the first to chime in about Las Vegas’ disappearing cash game action. In his blog Doyle wrote, “Las Vegas is becoming more and more a not very desirable place for a poker pro to live. There simply isn’t very many high limit games anywhere. What’s with the economy, the world wide tournaments, and the internet poker, the outlook for live …

Cake Poker adds Victory Poker
The Cake Poker Network is already huge since they operate several successful poker sites such as DoylesRoom, Juicy Stakes, Power Poker, Red Star Poker, and Cake Poker. But it looks like they’re focused on getting even bigger with the addition of Victory Poker. Victory Poker, which has around 300 regular players at the cash game poker tables, moved from the Everleaf Network to Cake Poker just recently. A couple of reasons why Victory made the switch is because they like the online poker deals that Cake offers along with the quality poker software they run too. Interestingly enough, the reasons …

Ultimate Bet player Phil Hellmuth has a penchant for grand entrances. Last year Hellmuth dressed in a military uniform while being escorted by 11 scantily-clad women – one for each of his poker tournament gold bracelets. And while Hellmuth has been busy promoting the excellent 30% rakeback deals that UB offers, he still made time for yet another grand WSOP Main Event entrance. This year, Hellmuth showed up dressed as a mixed martial arts fighter along with world famous announcer Bruce Buffer. Hellmuth entered the poker table area from a stage as Buffer bellowed out, “He’s loved by many, hated …
PokerStars “Big Game” has Successful Debut
The PokerStars “Big Game” debuted on the FOX television network earlier this week in what was considered a very successful first episode. Perhaps the main reason for the successful debut was the fact that many of the world’s best live and internet poker players attended the Big Game. Those who sat down at the Big Game poker table included Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, Tony G, Phil Laak, Daniel Negreanu, and amateur player Ernest Wiggins. Wiggins, who hails from Washington D.C., was especially interesting since he qualified for the show through a “Loose Cannon” poker tournament at PokerStars. And Wiggins certainly …
Doyles Room holds Beer Pong Invitational
Proving that beer pong isn’t just for drunk college students, Doyles Room sponsored the third annual Doyle Brunson Beer Pong Invitational. The Beer Pong Invitational was held in Downtown Las Vegas at the Hogs and Heifers bar, and it featured 64 of the world’s best live and online poker players. The first round of the beer pong tournament was very eventful because Doyle Brunson himself graced the tables. Brunson played beer pong almost as well as he plays poker hands since he and Zachary “CrazyZachary” Clark defeated Dave Walker and Jason “JaspudUF” Lee in the opening round. Doyle wasn’t the …
