EPT Vienna is the Largest Event in Austrian History

EPT Vienna is officially the largest casino poker event in Austrian history after 587 players paid the €5,300 to buy into this event; this created a €2,935,000 ($4,087,868) prize pool.  Whoever wins this poker tournament will walk away with €700,000 ($974,960)!

The tournament is already 309 players closer to crowning a winner since only 278 players remain after two days at the poker tables.  UK player Laurence Houghton leads the field right now with 190,000 poker chips, but there is still a lot of poker left to play.  Several notable players have a chance to win this tourney since Daniel Negreanu, Tom Dwan and defending champion Pascal Perrault are still in the hunt.

Perrault won the Vienna tournament back in 2005 (the last time any major poker games were held in the city), and he earned a €184,000 top prize.  Judging from the €700,000 top prize offered this year, the European Poker Tour has obviously grown quite a bit since then.  Of course, the buy-in for this holdem poker tournament was only €2,000 in 2005 so buy-ins have obviously increased a lot too!

This is why you should be visiting online poker sites and trying to win prize packages to major land-based tournaments.  There are lots of satellites and free poker tournaments that offer you a chance to win an expensive prize package so all you need to do is download their poker software and start playing.  Some of the best poker sites offering prize packages include Full Tilt Poker, Carbon Poker, and Party Poker

What’s more is that many of these poker rooms offer rakeback deals so you can earn money back while you’re trying to win a prize package.  Plus you can take advantage of other online poker deals like signup bonuses to make even more money.
