May is going to be an excellent time for online poker players since both the Full Tilt Poker Mini FTOPS XX and PokerStars SCOOP will be starting on May 8th. Of course, the 2011 SCOOP is where most of the money will be at since PokerStars is offering $45 million guaranteed across 38 events.

For those of you who’ve never played the SCOOP, this massive internet poker event provides three different buy-in levels so that everybody can get a piece of the action. For example, Event #1’s 6-max NLHE has Low Stakes ($22 buy-in, $300k prize pool), Medium Stakes ($215 buy-in, $750k prize pool) and High Stakes ($2,100 buy-in, $1 million prize pool) tournaments. In essence, there are 114 different poker tournaments when you consider the fact that every event has three tourneys.

Besides the large multitude of stakes offered, there is also plenty of variety in the 2011 SCOOP because holdem poker, Omaha, Stud, Badugi, HORSE, Draw Poker and 8-Game will all be available.
