English Poker Open 2013 postponed until 2014

The English Poker Open 2013 is to be postponed until next year due to unforeseen scheduling issues which have arisen. The tournament was to be held in London from 27th to 29th September at Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford City. It was a tough decision to postpone the EPO, but on balance the right choice as we want to ensure that players at the event have the sort of top quality experience that they expect from the English Poker Open brand. The top English poker pros and personalities were recently in London for the 2012 British Poker Awards. And Sam Trickett, Liv Boeree and Chris Moorman shined the brightest on this night after taking home top honors. EPO2012 Final Table Recap – Mickey Petersen wins

What began four days ago with 137 players has now come to an exciting conclusion with Mickey Petersen winning the 2012 English Poker Open. The Dane defeated Sweden’s Chris Bjorin heads-up to win a £78,660 ($127,807) top prize and become “England’s King of Poker.” As for the details of Petersen’s run to the EPO2012 title, here’s a final table recap. Surinder Sunar Makes Great Call and Busts Laumier

With blinds at 8k/16k, action has really picked up on the final day of the EPO2012. Chris Bjorin just busted Ben Jackson out in sixth place (£15,180) to win a pot worth 318,500 chips. Jackson moved all-in with Ah-5h, only to be called by Bjorin and his pocket rockets. The board failed to improve Jackson’s hand and he was out of the tourney. Chip leader Jamie Roberts also busted Niels Ladefoged to push his stack over 1.5 million. As for how the hand went down, Ladefoged moved all-in from the cut-off with J-K suited, and Roberts called with pocket jacks. …
