It's not like the tourney lobby could just "Magically" announce that the password was not needed. How about some answers?
    Hey Casper,

The password was NOT removed for all players. Why some people were asked for a password and some weren't we don't know. That's a Cake technology issue.

There's nothing shady or fishy about the situation. The freeroll was always intended to be open to all our players, and because they were set up as password tournaments to allow players signing up last minute, there was always going to be a risk that hundreds of extra players got in.

You are however right that this is all just about a freeroll. But to begin to suggest that the fact that someone released the password to friends/a forum (or even divulged that their forum that people could play for free) is akin to the events of Black Friday is a little excessive we think

If we can think of another solution in the future then we will try and put that in to operation.

    Have a good week
    Best wishes

Okay, please explain to us why the tourney lobby specifically said that the password was removed! Several RTR members, besides me, have told you this in this thread.

Please explain why the tourney lobby said and I quote:

"To celebrate Thanksgiving, this is a NOT Private Tournament!"

"There is no password on this"

Who the heck put that on Cake's website? Huh? Explain this. Are you going to tell me that RTR and Cake knows nothing about that?

Hey Casper - Cake have the occasional problems with their software when it comes to tournaments. The Saturday bankroll booster is supposed to be for all RTR group players who have registered by the Friday morning. However even players who have been tracked to RTR for real money at Cake for several years sometime can't enter.

What we are saying is that regardless of what the lobby said, some people had to enter a password in and some didn't. We have talked to our affiliate manager at Cake and he certainly didn't remove the password feature. If one of the Cake support team did it we don't know. But as i have said it definitely asked me for a password last night!

There's really nothing more that we can say on the issue!
    Best wishes

I'd dare say very few people had to use a password considering both tournies jumped by more than 900 entries. Someone isn't coming clean on this. I highly doubt some random support person from Cake could change their tournament lobby and change the requirement to register. Someone higher up than support personnel did this. Oh, well. I've said enough.

well i think rake knew exactly what was going on. i have spoken to several and i mean several rtr members, all said first tourney needed pass after that none required. what upsets me is rtr opened these tourneys after setting the rules. rtr changed the rules to suit their needs for profit and growth. it took away the gift they exploited for rtr members. it completely took away any chance for anyone to win the prizes they had set and the hoodies for placing in more than one tourney. i have been a member here for along time and have alot of respect for rtr, but this really upsets me and i lost faith and trust. i know this was all free and for that you have my thanks but you guys changed the rules and that was dead wrong. and
to try and blow it off saying it was for new members then saying cake had problems with system. to many excuses. kinda like bill clinton i did not have sexual relation with
    that women. RTR
    yes you did.

Dear members of the RTR community and to those that run RAKETHERAKE. I sent an email to cake poker support and asked why someone there would make a change to the passwords. here was their response.

    Hello Leslie,

Thank you for your email. I'm afraid the information you have been given is incorrect. We set the tournaments up with restricted entry and Raketherake then requested this be removed.

"Please accept our apologies on behalf of Cake for the issues surrounding the Thanksgiving freerolls. Cake misunderstood and thought that the freerolls were exclusive to tracked players only, when in fact they should be available to everyone."

This is part of the email raketherake sent to player's inquiring about this.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

    Kind Regards,
    Jack
