The story about RakeTheRake starts in late 2004 when online poker was booming and the poker rooms were cleaning up. We noticed a gap in the market for a site which offered players rewards incentives to choose between the rooms.
And so RakeTheRake was created that December and we signed our first player at Betfair.
The (not so) humble beginning of it all
Within a year of launch RakeTheRake had amassed 500 players and paid back a cool $1,000,000 in rakeback. All from a 150 square feet office above a travel agency.
In a few years the number of players rose to 5,000 and that quickly doubled to 10,000. Thanks to RakeTheRake's generous policy of diverting almost all profits into promotions, we were able to pay back over $10,000,000 in promos and rakeback.

Thing's start to take off
Word spread fast among players about the returns our members were getting from RakeTheRake and by June 2008 we’d hit 50,000 accounts.
Not long after we hit a massive $50,000,000 in returns all paid out to our loyal members.

More awards and launching our own tournament
In 2009 we picked up our second Poker Affiliate of the Year award, RakeTheRake's dominance in the rakeback market was established. What better way to celebrate that than to flash a little cash?
So RakeTheRake launched the inaugural English Poker Open live tournament at the Dusk Till Dawn casino in Nottingham. With the first live $1,000,000 guarantee tournament in the UK, players were falling over themselves to enter in a field that attracted the likes of poker royalty like Doyle Brunson and Phil Hellmuth.

The English Poker Open returned for another year and another $1,000,000 guarantee tournament. Following another big successful tournament we hit the massive milestone of paying out over $100,000,000 in rakeback and promotions was hit only months later. The $100,000,000 mark was hit in August, but events in the industry with Full Tilt and other rooms meant poker was about to take a back seat globally.
Now it was time to settle in and grind it out. The players took care of their cards and RakeTheRake took care of it’s players. Another English Poker Open tournament and six years later we managed to reach $150,000,000 in rakeback and promotions paid out to our players. That's over $100,000,000 more than any of our competitors.
RakeTheRake has seen out the toughest period in online poker history and is still hitting ground breaking milestones.
