London – Thursday 29th 2009 – CAP Awards
The Brewery in the City of London was the setting for this year’s for the CasinoAffiliatePrograms annual award ceremony.
With the setting decked out with an Alice in Wonderland theme, 400 guests dressed in black tie (with the exception of some guy who came as Dr Who) rocked up to celebrate the industry’s success in 2008.
A champagne reception greeted the guests with the champagne being served in tea cups á la Mad Hatter and co. Then it was on to a fabulous three course meal with a very dodgy looking dessert.
The wine seemed to flow endlessly and then the awards ceremony kicked off with a comedian warming up the audience (or at least 11% of it as he said himself)
The CAPPIES were presented by CAPs very own Michael Caselli and Alice (of Wonderland fame) in person!
Who had longer hair is still being debated, but we know both are prone to wearing dresses and heels on the weekend.
For the second year in a row RakeTheRake won Best Poker Affiliate despite fierce competition.
When interviewed the RTR CEO had this to say
“Firstly I would like to thank everybody who voted for us, not least our players and our Affiliate Managers at each room who help us set the benchmarks we are known for. The other nominees were formidable counterparts and all do a fantastic job for online poker. To win Best Poker Affiliate for a second year in succession is a testament to the hard work that our entire team put in on a daily basis. A CAP award is serious recognition within our industry, and also instils a tremendous amount of confidence in to clients when they are choosing a poker affiliate. See you in 2010.”
RakeTheRake would like to thank everyone involved in organising the CAP Awards, both those out front and those who lurk behind the scenes.
