Last year’s Italian Poker Open Main Event was fairly large with a $422,539 prize pool up for grabs. Italy’s Elios Gualdi won the tournament and scooped a $77,228 payout following a final table deal with second place finisher Massimiliano Bellucci ($71,789).
But you can throw everything that happened at last year’s event out the window because the 2013 Italian Poker Open will offer a boosted €1,000,000 ($1.3m) guaranteed prize pool! This is more than double what players competed for in 2012, and the winner should walk away with hundreds of thousands of euros.
If this sounds like a thrilling prospect to you, note that the 2013 IPO runs at Municipale Casino in Campione, Italy from April 23rd – April 30th, 2013. The Main Event buy-in is €550, which is really reasonable for a tournament of this size. However, if you don’t have enough money to fly to Italy and enter this tourney, keep in mind that Titan Poker are offering €900 IPO prize packages. These packages cover the following perks:
- €550 IPO Main Event buy-in
- €350 for plane tickets and spending money
Assuming you’d like to try for one of these packages and compete for a €1 million prize pool, you can play in the various 2013 IPO satellites that Titan are running. Below you can see the entire satellite structure:
