Annette Obrestad signs with Full Tilt Poker

In perhaps the biggest poker player signing in quite some time, Full Tilt Poker has managed to land Annette Obrestad on their already impressive roster of players.

Obrestad is not only one of the best young poker tournament players in the world, but she is also a legend in the Internet poker world.  According to the 21 year-old, she never had to deposit her own money into any poker sites.  Instead, she initially funded her poker account by winning freeroll tournaments after learning to play poker

Even more impressive than this is that Obrestad started her online poker career at the age of 15 as her screen name “Annette_15” implies.  Before her 18th birthday, Annette managed to win over $500,000 by playing at PokerStars.  During the same year, she would go on to win another $200,000 and $136,000 by playing at UltimateBet and Full Tilt Poker (her new home).

As if she wasn’t already legendary enough, Obrestad once played a $4 buy-in, 180-person sit and go tournament without looking at any of her poker cards.  Instead, she played the poker hands by looking at her table position as well as how her opponents were playing.

Legends aside, Obrestad’s biggest moment came in the World Series of Poker* Europe where she won the Main Event one day before her 19th birthday.  After winning the event, Obrestad cashed for £1,000,000!  This prize, which was worth $2.01 million at the time, narrowly beat out Annie Duke for the largest ever single cash by a female player.

Aside from the big win in the WSOPE, Obrestad almost won the EPT Dublin tournament as she took second place and cashed for €297,800.  In all, Annette has earned over $2,700,000 in live tournament play, and she has become one of the top holdem poker players in the world.
