Full Tilt signs British Heavyweight Boxer Audley Harrison

While Full Tilt Poker is a site that mainly sticks to signing successful casino poker pros, they recently broke this trend by signing British heavyweight boxer Audley Harrison.

Harrison, who has won the British Heavyweight Championship and the European Heavyweight Championship, might seem like a newcomer in the world of online poker.  However, he actually has plenty of poker experience since he finished 2nd in a Bellagio Cup III side event ($76,895) and third in the Venetian Deep Stack Main Event ($90,298); he also has two WSOP cashes.

Seeing as how Audley holds the rare distinction of being able to play poker and box with the world’s best, it was only a matter of time before an online poker room signed Harrison.  It will definitely be interesting seeing Harrison promoting Full Tilt’s 27% rakeback deals in the future!
Harrison is excited about promoting Full Tilt’s online poker deals as he said, “I have had some great results already in the game and Eddie (Hearn – Matchroom Sport director) and I have been looking at joining the right team for a while now.”  Audley finished by adding, “We have found the perfect partner in Full Tilt Poker, and I look forward to representing them both in the ring and on the tables. Next time I’m in action on the felt, I plan to have the WBA Heavyweight Championship belt around my waist.”
Audley Harrison has a big WBA Heavyweight Championship fight against David Haye on November 13th in Manchester.  As a member of Full Tilt, there’s no doubt that the Full Tilt Poker logo will be plastered on the 38 year-old heavyweight’s trunks.  Hopefully for Harrison, he can follow up his good fortune of signing with a leading poker room by beating Haye for the WBA title.
