November Nine Member Nguyen wins FTOPS Event

Soi Nguyen has already etched his name into casino poker history after earning a place among the 2010 November Nine.  Nguyen was the first player to be eliminated from the 2010 WSOP Main Event final poker table, and he earned over $811k for his finish.  Less than two weeks removed from his Main Event appearance, it hasn’t taken Nguyen long to make a name for himself in the online poker world after winning FTOPS Event #18.

If you’re unfamiliar with FTOPS, this is Full Tilt Poker’s biggest event and it offers millions of dollars to players; in fact, FTOPS XVIII will have paid out over $19 million by the time it’s done.  The poker tournament that Nguyen won offered over $350,000 of this amount.

What’s amazing about Nguyen’s victory is that he was actually hosting the event as a Full Tilt pro.  After winning the tournament and the $78,503 that came with the victory, Nguyen joins Erick Lindgren and Greg Mueller as the only Full Tilt pros to win FTOPS events they were hosting.

As of now, 24 FTOPS tournaments have concluded play, and over $11 million has been given away in prize money.  Of course, FTOPS isn’t over yet so you still have time to get into one of the remaining 10 FTOPS poker games.  Of all of these tournaments, the Main Event is definitely the most attractive with its $3 million prize pool.  If you’re interested in going for the top prize in this tournament, you should hurry and start playing in the satellites and free poker qualifiers that Full Tilt is currently running.

And if you haven’t already signed up for Full Tilt, you should definitely take advantage of their rakeback deal, which allows you to earn back 27% of the money you spend on rake.
