By August, there’s a good chance that you’ll be sick of the humidity and sunburns that accompany summer. This being said, the August 7th Summer Million poker tournament at Party Poker comes at the perfect time!

As the name implies, this event will offer a $1 million prize pool, and there are a number of satellites and qualifiers running at Party Poker. There are five different routes people can go through to get into the Summer Million, and here’s a look at the qualifying structures:

– Route 1: $1 Daily Summer Million Sub Qualifier Speed Rebuy leads to $25 + $2 Summer Million Rebuy Qualifier; one player moves on to Summer Million for every $640 in the prize pool.

– Route 2: $2 Daily Summer Million Sub Qualifier Speed Rebuy and $8 Daily Summer Million Sub Qualifier Speed both lead to $64 + $6 Daily Summer Million Qualifier; 1 in 10 players win a Summer Million seat in this tournament.

– Route 3: $2 Daily Summer Million MEGA Friday Sub Qualifier Speed Rebuy and $6 Daily Summer Million MEGA Friday Sub Qualifier Speed leads to $50 + $5 Summer Million MEGA Friday Satellite; 10 guaranteed seats will be given out through this tournament.

– Route 4: Daily Country Specific Freerolls and Daily Player Points Qualifiers lead to Summer Million Special; 10 seats to Summer Million guaranteed in this event.

– Route 5: $47 Daily Summer Million Sub Qualifier Extra Speed leads to $160 + $12 Daily Summer Million Qualifier Extra; 1 out of every 4 players win Summer Million seats through the Qualifier Extra.

In addition to all of the satellites, keep in mind that you can buy into the Summer Million directly for $600 + $40. And whether you buy in directly or play in a satellite, remember that you can get a huge 50% rakeback deal through Party Poker.

Tip of the Day: You should avoid shoving in deepstacked tournament situations, unless you have a huge advantage and another player is likely to call. The reason why is because there’s no pressure from the blinds since they aren’t a threat to your stack, and you can sit back and wait for more favourable situations.
