PokerStars world record attempt for biggest poker tournament

On 4 December, PokerStars will bring over 150,000 poker players together for an online game in an attempt to hold the world’s largest poker tournament ever played.

At present, the Guiness World Record for the largest poker tournament stands at 149,196 players. Held in 2009, again hosted by PokerStars, the tournament featured a $1 buy-in and was won by German player ‘oskar69’ who took the $50,000 first prize.

This year’s World Record attempt on 4 December will start at 12:30 ET (18.30 CET) and will be a No Limit Hold’Em tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of $250,000, in celebration of PokerStars 10th Anniversary. Buy-in will once again be $1.

The first prize will be a guaranteed $50,000 – a great return on a $1 buy-in investment! There’s also some $10 bounty prizes for any players knocking out Team PokerStars Pro members.

If you want to be part of this attempt to better the Guiness World Record then head over to PokerStars. They’ve got some other PokerStars 10th Anniversary promotions running too which include The $10 Million Sunday Million tournament with its $10 million guaranteed prize pool and $2 million for first place, and the 10th Anniversary Giveaway that awards 100 dream vacations to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas for free, along with 10,000 cash prizes. And there’s reportedly more to come!

Sounds like a good time to be playing for prizes whilst getting PokerStars rewards !
