Sam Trickett invades Macau High Stakes Poker Games

The UK’s Sam Trickett certainly has one of the most interesting back stories in all of poker since he picked the game up as a hobby after suffering a football injury in 2005. Three years later, he began playing $10 SNG’s in online poker, and has experienced a meteoric rise in the poker world ever since.

Now the East Midlands native is considered one of the top casino poker players in the world, and he recently put his talents on display at the big cash games that were recently played in Macau. Trickett has no doubt been one of the most successful players in the Macau high stakes poker games since he managed to win over HKD$14 million (£1.15 million) in the short time that he was there. Assuming he was playing online poker, just think about how much rakeback Trickett could’ve earned!

He sent a tweet about the high stakes poker games that read, “It’s sick how long the games run for here! I played 20 hours and had to leave, was a bit jet lagged, sometime I wish humans didn’t have to sleep.” Now it looks like Trickett will take his £1.15 million profit and leave since he’s headed for the next Epic Poker League tournament.

2011 has really been a breakout year for Trickett since he’s managed to earn over £2.9 million in live poker tournaments, and has captured a couple very prestigious titles. Here is a look at some of his most impressive accomplishments from this year:

– 1st place in $100,000 Aussie Millions High Roller (£1.01 million)
– 2nd place in $250,000 Aussie Millions High Roller (£885,420)
– 1st place in Partouche Poker Tour Main Event (£872,624)
– 4th place in 2011 WSOPE €5,000 Pot Limit Omaha (£66,354).

One thing to keep in mind about Sam Trickett’s impressive success is that – just four years ago – he was starting out in online poker. If you’ve got any interest in following in Trickett’s footsteps, you should take a look at all of the great poker deals and bonuses at RakeTheRake.
