Poker Maximus Tournament Series offering $1.5m

The Merge Gaming network is the latest online poker entity to jump on the tournament series, having recently confirmed that they’ll be running the Poker Maximus tournament series from March 4th–25th. In all, Poker Maximus will feature 70 poker tournaments and give away $1.5 million in guaranteed money.

Perhaps the best part about this poker tournament series is that the buy-ins range from $1.10 to $530, which ensures that any player can participate. And for the higher buy-in events, there will be plenty of Poker Maximus satellites running too. But before we get into the satellites, here is a look at just a few of the 70 tournaments:

Mar. 4th Event #2 – $150,000 NLH Freezeout, $100 + $9 buy-in

If any of these huge tournaments are of interest to you, sign up at one of the Merge Gaming network sites such as Aced, Black Chip Poker, Carbon Poker and RPM Poker. Signing up at these sites through RakeTheRake also assures online poker players the highest rakeback deal. If you become or are already a member of any of these sites, you’ll be able to play in the Poker Maximus satellites. Seeing as how there are so many poker tournaments in this series, you won’t be playing for specific tourney seats in the satellites, but rather for coupons. For example, if you enter the $1 buy-in daily $11 Coupon satellite, you’ll be playing for one of the $11 tournament tickets available. Assuming you win an $11 coupon, you can use it in any of the available $11 buy-in Poker Maximus tournaments. The size of coupons you can win range from $11 to $530, while the satellite buy-ins vary from $1 to $73.30.

One more aspect of this tournament series worth mentioning is the Poker Maximus Leaderboard. Players earn points for this leaderboard based on a specific formula that looks like this:

tournament buy-in × amount of entrants ÷ tournament finish

The top 100 finishers on the leaderboard at the end of the 70 tournaments will compete in an exclusive freeroll where $15,000 will be given away. Additionally, there’s also a $10,000 Champions of Champions Freeroll for everybody who wins a Poker Maximus event.
